Karukhaya Explained.

Karu comes from the Khoekhoe word "Karoo" meaning land of thirst. It represents the harsh, dry and hard world of the outside.

Khaya is the isiXhosa and isiZulu word for home or "place of belonging".

Karukhaya represents the exact moment between Karoo and Khaya. The moment the outside comes off.
